Lokendra bahadur is the 27th prime minister of Nepal. He served as prime minister for 4 times. He held the position of PM from 1983 to 1986, for a brief period in April 1990, for a brief period in 1997, and from October 2002 to June 2003.

Political Careers

He is a strong ally of the monarchy in Nepal. He was the Rastriya Panchayat's speaker. He was a non-member of any political party for his first two stints as prime minister, but by 1997 he had joined his current political party, the hardline Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).

 On October 11, 2002, he was appointed prime minister, one week after the king overthrew Sher Bahadur Deuba's Nepali Congress government. The cabinet's leader in 2002 was Chand. Chand was compelled to retire in 2003 as a result of protracted protests and the Maoist rebels' civil war becoming more intense.

Chand is the RPP's first choice for the closed proportional representation list going into the 2008 elections for the Constituent Assembly. 

Family life

He has three daughters and four boys. Sons include Bhupenn Chand, Arun Chand, Jayant Chand, and Arun Chand. Jayant Chand is involved in politics, twice elected to the cabinet, and is a leader in his father's party. Arun Chand is an entrepreneur. Engineer in computer science Binod Chand. The eldest son, Bhupenn Chand, is an actor and philanthropist who currently resides in the United States.
