Bhimsen Thapa was the mukhtiyar of Nepal

Bhimsen Thapa was the mukhtiyar of Nepal from 1806 to 1837. He is one of the hero of Nepal in the 19th century. He was the first Primeminister of Nepal in the Rana period. Bhimsen Thapa was the person who had good thinking towards the Nepal and the Nepali people.Due to the good relation he had with the King in the childhood he was able to get the post very easily. He was born in Gorkha and he used to meet the king when they used to come in the Gorkha for some traditional works.

During Bhimsen's prime ministership, the Gurkha empire had reached its greatest expanse from Sutlej river in the west to the Teesta river in the east. However, Nepal entered into a disastrous Anglo-Nepalese War with the East India Company lasting from 1814–16, which was concluded with the Treaty of Sugauli, by which Nepal lost almost one-third of its land. It also led to the establishment of a permanent British Residency. The death of King Girvan Yuddha Bikram Shah in 1816 before his maturity, and the immature age of his heir, King Rajendra Bikram Shah, coupled with the support from Queen Tripurasundari (the junior queen of Rana Bahadur Shah) allowed him to continue to remain in power even after Nepal's defeat in the Anglo-Nepalese War.

He had done a lot of Improvements in terms of the Nation. He had build Dhaharahara, the tower of Nepal where you can view all the Kathmandu Valley. It is 9 storyed tall. Besides he had made canals, helps in the establishments of schools, improvements of political situations and all. As he had good relations with the king he used to teach the king about the progressive way of development. He ia one of the great hero in the history of Nepal.

Bhimsen Thapa was the ruler of the rana period, due to this he had to face a many personal problems. Rana don’t like his progressive behaviour because Ranas don’t want people be educated and developed. Although he tried a lot for the improvements for the nations and all.

He ws kept in the Jail by the Ranas and he was said that his wife is made nacked and in the town she is being exposed. He cant tolerate the thing and succide in the jail. British beople were very much impressed by his deeds and progressive nature. So after his death they take his bone of head in their country. Still in the mueseum of London there is the skill of Bhimsen Thapa.

The list of prime minister of Nepal

The position of Prime Minister of Nepal in modern form was called by different names at different times of Nepalese history. Since the inception of the Shah dynasty, the Mul-Kajis served the function of Prime Ministers. In 1806, the position of Muktiyar was created for Rana Bahadur Shah, and the title was subsequently adopted. Although the word “Muktiyar” is best translated as “Royal Representative”, Muktiyar Bhimsen Thapa was the first person to be referred to as Prime Minister by the British. However, the first Muktiyar to title himself as Prime Minister, as per the British convention, was Bhimsen’s nephew, Mathabar Singh Thapa.

Few of Nepalese Prime Ministers have carried a democratic mandate. The first elected Prime Minister was Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala, in 1959. After he was deposed and imprisoned, Nepal did not have a democratic government until 1990, when the country became a constitutional monarchy. The monarchy was abolished on 28 May 2008 by the Constituent Assembly.
